The DDS family lost a very special person, Nicole Zapolski, or as many of us dancers called her, Miss Nikki. She was more than just a teacher—she was a role model, a mentor, and a constant source of positivity and encouragement for everyone who walked through our doors. We love and miss her every day, and her impact continues to live on in our studio.

In 2024, Duxbury Dance Shoppe introduced the Nicole Zapolski Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who exemplifies the qualities that Miss Nikki herself embodied: dedication, hard work, loyalty, a positive attitude, and a love for dancing like nobody is watching. Through this scholarship, we are able to carry forward her spirit and ensure that her legacy continues to inspire future generations of dancers. It is an honor we proudly present each year at our annual recital.

For those who would like to be a part of continuing Miss Nikki’s legacy, at any time, cash and check payments are accepted. Checks are made out to Duxbury Dance Shoppe LLC. In the memo, please write “Miss Nikki scholarship”. Donations to the scholarship can also be made through our recital ticketing site.
